Speak to our team

Healthcare professionals

The Stair Climbing Company works closely with occupational therapists to find mobility solutions for families in their own homes. Working with both adults and children, we will conduct a visit jointly to provide a thorough assessment and recommend a stair climber that will improve the family’s standard living.

Stadiums & Sports Facilities

We work with safety officers and operations teams across facilities in the UK to ensure their access and evacuation is to the correct standard. This includes meeting PUWER and LOLER regulations on equipment they have on site, as well as ensuring their stewards and
team in general are certificated, confident and safe in using all equipment they have.

Evacuation

We provide the highest level of service and equipment that the Evacuation industry in the UK has to offer. We provide cost effective evacuation chairs built in the UK with full service and maintenance plans as well as periodical training for relevant staff.

Hospitality & Leisure

We work within the industry providing access and evacuation contracts to luxury hospitality including Claridges and Carnival Cruise ships.

Facilities & Estate Management

We work within the FM and Estate management sector to ensure access is offered throughout from smaller single use lift failures to large multi organisation projects. These would range from an independent care home to the Silchester estate refurbishment (RBKC).

Event Hire

Allow us to take the worry away for access issues for your event. For weddings and general functions we offer a short term hire service with operator.

Heritage Properties

Providing access to heritage buildings where permanent structures such as lifts are not an option. We work with a range of properties from Wimpole Hall (National Trust) to the Martello Tower (Clacton).

Education

We work with schools, universities and colleges to empower students with limited mobility equal access on the stairs.

      FAQ’s

We understand that choosing the right accessibility solution is an important decision.

We’ve compiled answers to the most common questions about our Stair Climbers—from functionality and safety to maintenance and portability. Explore the FAQs below to learn more, or get in touch if you need further assistance.

How does a Stair Climber work?

A Stair Climber is powered by an electric motor and features either a mechanical push arm or rotating tracks. This mechanism smoothly lifts both the operator and the passenger up or down stairs, making it an efficient and safe solution for navigating staircases. Our models work on the majority of stair types, including spiral staircases, and require just one person to operate.

Is the Stair Climber safe for elderly or fragile patients?

Yes! Our models are designed for smooth, stable movement and feature secure harnessing, ensuring comfort and peace of mind for users.

Where can Stair Climbers be used?

Our Stair Climbers are highly versatile and can be used on virtually any type of staircase—indoors or outdoors. With no need for installation, they are a mobile solution that can be used across various locations.

Can clients use it in their own homes?

Absolutely! The Stair Climber is a mobile, non-invasive solution perfect for home use, requiring no installation.

How many people are needed to operate a Stair Climber?

Our Stair Climbers are designed for ease of use, meaning one person can safely assist a user up or down stairs with confidence.

Can Stair Climbers be transported easily?

Absolutely! With no fixed attachments required, our Stair Climbers are lightweight and mobile. This makes them easy to store and use across different locations if needed.

How do Stair Climbers compare to stairlifts?

Unlike stairlifts, our Stair Climber is flexible, transportable, and cost-effective, making it ideal for both temporary and long-term use. No fixture is required.

Is product training provided by The Stair Climbing Company?

Yes! We provide comprehensive training to ensure your team can operate the Stair Climber safely and efficiently. This includes guidance on usage, care, and battery maintenance to keep the equipment in peak condition.
